We are getting rid of our beloved i3! It has been a perfect car for us with zero issues. We call this car the “Workhorse” because it does all the errands around town! It fits everywhere, feels very comfortable, is enjoyable to drive, brings a smile to your face when you are in it, and is cheap to operate. We didn’t have a charger installed at our home. We simply plug it into a regular outlet and it charges at night. Never had any anxiety about running out of battery.
It has the ability to charge from 120v (regular household outlet), 240v, or 480v (DC quick chargers). I drive it to and from work, run errands, and go to dinner downtown and I probably use about 1/3 of the battery. Plug it (to the garage outlet) while I’m sleeping and it’s fully charged the next morning for work on hottest and coldest of days. I can usually go 3-4 days without plugging it in driving just to/from work before I’ll need to charge the battery. 60-80 miles range. I don’t drive it like a sports car, but it is an instant delivery of acceleration when you ask for it. Ask questions if you’re a first time electric car charger, I’m here to answer!
It seats 4. Surprisingly, much better than most cars I’ve owned. Because there isn’t a motor up front, the interior is much larger than you anticipate. The only trouble is the ledge for the rear seats is bit of a step to clear the door jam. I wouldn’t put my 75 year old dad back there everyday, but he can manage it just fine – so can you.
We bought it Certified Pre-Owned. So the warranty is good until Dec 22, 2020- so no worries until then. While it is still under warranty, you have the option to extend (buy) warranty and maintenance packages through BMW. The battery is under warranty for 8 years or 100,000miles at a 70% capacity guarantee.
It got new tires in 2018.
